What we look at on a used console
It powers on and shows a picture
We connect it to a screen and check that it boots and outputs video.
Ports and HDMI
We look at the HDMI port and the other ports for damage.
Disc drive and storage
If it has a disc drive, we check it reads. We check the storage too.
Controllers and cables
What’s included changes the offer: controllers, power cable, HDMI cable, box.
Signed out and reset
Sign out of your PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo account and reset it before you sell.
Overall condition
Scratches, cracks, missing parts and wear all count.

Sealed consoles have fixed prices on our list. For opened and used consoles there’s no posted price: we make an offer after we see it, based on the checks above. A console that works, comes with its controller and cables, and is signed out gets the best offer.
